Lucy Sutherland - trend forecaster and colour expert has the following tips when considering decorating your bedroom.

"Bedrooms are a great room to try something different. If you are unsure about painting the whole room, paint a feature wall behind the bed in a colour you love and then place a mirror on the opposite wall to reflect the colour. Soft blues, greens and mochas are perfect colours to use in a bedroom. They are restful and look stunning with crisp white bed linen."

Black and white is one of the most endearing colour combinations.

It doesn’t need to be stark, you can warm it up with a mid tone grey to off set the contrast.

Use pattern and texture through photo frames and bed covers for a timeless look.

Using Monochromatic Colours

A monochromatic colour scheme where different shades of the same colour are used, can be made more visually appealing by adding texture.

Use New Look Metallic Shimmer in Percussion on the walls in a criss cross pattern and then add textured cushions in varying patterns to create an elegant look.

Timeless Elegance

Olive and grey greens are a perfect colour for bedrooms.

They can be both soft and strong and work equally well with crisp whites or earthy, natural tones.
