Latest Home Paint Finish Trends & How To Incorporate Them Into Your Home

It’s springtime and you know what that means! It’s time to revamp your living space for all those summer (COVID-safe!) gatherings. While we’ve all been stuck indoors this past year, there’s no doubt you’ve been stuck looking at those same four walls, wondering how you can get it to look like that account on Instagram… don’t fear! We have all the tips so you can upgrade your space in no time.

Sage Green

Unless you’ve been asleep for the last few months (let’s face it, we don’t blame you), you would have seen this beautiful colour rocking the home décor world. It’s easier than you think to incorporate it into your space! Start by adding a few décor pieces such as pillows and blankets to make sure it suits the look you’re going for, then ramp it up. You can easily paint your existing art frames this pastel shade (especially if they were previously white or wood), as well as trinket trays, table legs and more.

Neutrals & Woods

It’s no secret that the neutral colour palette including warm woods has been having a huge moment in 2020. There’s nothing that exudes “calm” more than some chocolate browns and warm honey tones, and we all need a little more calm in our life. Slap some paint on the walls and your biggest furniture pieces (we’re talking bureaus, desks and shelves) and inject some much-needed warmth into your life.

If you can’t afford real woods – don’t worry! Simply deck out your pieces with wood-finish vinyl contact paper or stain existing woods and no one will be able to tell the difference.

Metallics

Another finish that’s been causing a frenzy this season is the metallic trend. Gone is marble – incoming is gold, brass and silver, as well as rust, satin black metal and hammered finishes. Whip out a can of spray paint and give yourself the weekend task of updating legs of desks and chairs, breakfast bar stools and even cabinet handles to revamp your space in no time.
